A compilation of augmented reality projects I’ve done. Mostly are on Meta Quest 3.
AR Minimap
I’ve always thought it’s cool to have an AR minimap of the area you are currently in. The city is a generated low-poly placeholder (loosely Manhattan-shaped) that uses a hologram shader. Next, I will be plugging in real map data.
Mixed Reality Platformer
What if video game characters can jump in/out of screens and interact with the real world? I experimented with this idea by using Quest 3 for tracking my monitors and attaching a portal shader to each of them. 3D models from asset store and Kenney.
Black Hole
I made a black hole that eats your room.
Mixed Reality Book Reading
What if we turned every page of a book into a world around you? The 360 images are pre-generated using AI. The environment around you changes depending on which page of a book you’re reading. Full immersion.
Drone Light Show
I made a tabletop drone light show in augmented reality. Had a lot of fun on this one. I want to try more ideas, but my room is too small and cluttered. Will get back to this one day.
OpenClaw AI Assistant
I made a simple AI robot assistant by connecting my Meta Quest to OpenClaw running on an Ubuntu virtual machine. 3D model from Unity asset store. Response delays not shown in video.
AR Furniture App
I made a simple augmented reality furniture app as a quick study for AR object placement. I used Unity 2020.3.32f1 and AR Foundation 4.1.7 running on a Google Pixel 2 XL. Moreover, I used the AR Foundation Samples SimpleAR scene as base.
AR Bitcoin Price with Twitter Integration
Using augmented reality to display real-time information on trending cryptocurrency prices and social media discussion. Detailed breakdown here. I used the image tracking sample from Unity AR Foundation. Furthermore, I used Twitter API v2 endpoints to access tweets and CoinDesk public API to get the current Bitcoin price.
ARCore Transition Effect
I created a transition effect in our building’s hallway. Really like the idea of blending the real and the virtual world.
The original idea was to have some kind of cyber policemen chasing me in the corridor, which explains why I’m running in the video.
